BESTIOL is the generic name for beta-decay studies at DESIR and stands for "BEta decay STudies at the SPIRAL2 IsOL facility". This physics case comprises

- high-precision studies of half-lives and branching ratios in the framework the the Conserved Vector Current hypothesis (CVC)

- beta-delayed charged particle emission to establish decay schemes, to determine masses and Gamow-Teller strength distributions

- beta-delayed two-particle emission to study nucleon - nucleon correlations

- beta-decay studies for astrophysics

- study of the Gamow-Teller strength distribution

and more. Under the links below a few selected experiments are presented.

The BESTIOL facility will have general purpose separation facilities like a double Penning-trap setup "PIPERADE" and a CRIS-type LASER setup (collinear resonant ionisation) which will provide purified beams for other setups.
