PIPERADE

The PIPERADE setup (i.e. Penning traps for the radionuclides at DESIR) is a double Penning trap dedicated to high-resolution purification of radioactive ions beams and to high-precision mass spectrometry. The Exotic Nuclei group is currently developing this setup at LP2iB for a future installation in the DESIR hall of SPIRAL2/GANIL.

GPIB

The GPIB setup (for General Purpose Ion Buncher) is a radiofrequency quadrupole (RFQ) or linear Paul trap, dedicated to the cooling and/or bunching of radioactive ion beams. The Exotic Nuclei group is currently developing this setup at LP2iB for a future installation at the entrance of the DESIR hall of SPIRAL2/GANIL.
