Offre d’emploi POST-DOC
The Nuclear Excitation by Lasers (ENL) Physics Group at CENBG (Bordeaux-France) has an opening for a two year postdoctoral position in the field of laser plasma ion acceleration and related beam diagnostics. The ENL group has a well-established expertise in experimental nuclear physics. It is strongly involved in the development of nuclear physics experiments at high power and high repetition rate laser facilities such as APOLLON in France and ELI-NP in Romania. This research program is tightly linked to the successful production of high fluxes of ion beams by laser plasma acceleration. These beams must reach energies above the coulomb barrier to be able to produce nuclear reactions and unstable nuclei with high statistics for nuclear physics studies. The applicant will lead/participate in the ion acceleration studies in which the group is involved. He will also be involved in the development of novel diagnotics related to these beams.
The research program will be performed in close collaboration with the LULI (Palaiseau) , CELIA (Bordeaux) and IFIN-HH (Bucharest) labs and travel to laser facilities for experiments will be required. The candidate is expected to have solid grounds in experimental nuclear and/or plasma physics, data analysis and detector simulations.
Applicants should send electronically a CV, a list of publications, a research statement, and contact details of at least one referee that can support the application to Dr Fazia Hannachi, hannachi chez cenbg.in2p3.fr. Any questions regarding the position should also be directed to hannachi chez cenbg.in2p3.fr.
We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Review of applications will begin in july and will continue until the position is filled. The candidate is required to hold a Ph.D degree by the starting date.
